Powering the best – Off-road machines powered by AGCO Power awarded in EIMA and SIMA 2023

AGCO Power engines can be found in 2 out of 4 winning working machines in the annual “Tractor of the Year®” awards that were presented in EIMA (Bologna, Italy). Since 1998, Italian magazine ‘Trattori’ has annually given this prestigious award only to the best new tractor technologies and solutions in the market. The similarly coveted ‘Farm Machine 2023’ award (formerly known as ‘Machine of the Year’) was given during SIMA (Paris, France) by  Groupe La France Agricole, where winners of the ‘Large Tractor’ and ‘Jury Award’ are both powered by AGCO Power.

All AGCO Power engines in the winning categories are 100% HVO-compatible, delivering sustainable performance wherever it is needed.

Double win for the new CORE75 engine in EIMA and SIMA

Fendt 728 Vario tractor dominated the award season, winning both the main category, ‘Tractor of the Year® 2023’ and the ‘Farm Machine 2023’ award for tractors in the 180-280hp power range. The 7th generation Fendt 700 Vario is powered by the brand-new AGCO Power CORE75 engine that was premiered in Bauma this October. We are extremely proud of Fendt’s success and the future looks bright for innovative and sustainable technologies in the off-road market.

Delivering best-in-class power and torque (223 kW & 1450 Nm) and fuel economy (188 g / kWh), the 7,5-liter CORE75 is first of the future-proof CORE engine family, which is designed from the ground up with alternative fuels in mind. This double win is an excellent start to the CORE75 engine, which enters serial production by end of 2022.

Sustainability plays a major role in the design of machine solutions for today and tomorrow – ‘Tractor of the Year® 2023: Sustainable Toty’ was given JCB Fastrac 4220 iCon, which is powered by the 6,6-liter AGCO Power 66HD engine. The jury highlighted that the Fastrac 4220 iCon’s maximum speed on roads reaches 60 KM/H – less time on the road means more time on the field.

‘Farm Machine 2023: Jury Award’ was given to ‘The Beast’, Q-Series tractor by Valtra which is powered by the AGCO Power 74HD engine. The new tractor was credited for its efficient, yet powerful powertrain and users have praised it for its comfort, maneuverability, and ergonomics.

‘Farm Machine 2023’ award in the <120 HPcategory was deservedly given to Massey Ferguson MF 5S tractor. Described as an extremely versatile tractor for its size, it is powered by the 4.4-liter AGCO Power 44MD engine.

Groundbreaking power for the past and next 80 years

The 2022 award season confirms that the off-road machine industry sees value in powertrain solutions that are sustainable, reliable and offer uncompromised performance to the end-user. These characteristics have been the driving force behind AGCO Power engine design for over 80 years.

We warmly congratulate all the winners and are extremely proud of their innovative solutions, especially their choice engines, that drive the industry forward.
