The Fendt 600 Vario series and CORE50: flexible engine for versatile tractor

Fendt 600 tractor on the field

The new Fendt 600 Vario series is all about efficient versatility – an “all-round tractor without compromise” that delivers the power of a 6-cylinder with the economy of a 4-cylinder. Its holistic ground-up design approach starts right at the engine and flows seamlessly through the VarioDrive drivetrain. At the heart of this award-winning machine is the AGCO Power CORE50 engine.

By combining world-class engineering with an in-house development strategy, the new 600 Vario series delivers industry-leading Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), extreme versatility and outstanding operator comfort.

Collaboration is the key

The performance of the Fendt 600 Vario is the result of close collaboration between Fendt and AGCO Power in Linnavuori, Finland. Developing the engine and the tractor together ensures perfect harmony across all operations.

  • The Fendt DynamicPerformance (DP) concept seamlessly provides extra power exactly when you need it, maximizing the output of the 5.0-litre CORE50 engine.
  • With an extremely low power-to-weight ratio, outstanding maneuverability, and a massive payload capacity of up to 5.8 tons, it is a versatile master of arable farming, grassland work, and heavy transport.
  • The VarioDrive drivetrain and VarioGrip tire pressure regulation system ensure that the engine’s power is transferred to the ground efficiently, protecting the soil while maximizing pulling power.

Low-RPM economy and incredible DLG PowerMix

A major shift in the new 600 Vario series is the transition from a traditional high-RPM engine to a highly efficient low-idle concept of the CORE engine platform.

  • By running at just 800-950 rpm at idle and reaching nominal speed at 1,900 rpm, the engine drastically improves fuel consumption and lowers TCO.
  • In the renowned DLG PowerMix test, the Fendt 620 Vario set the benchmark with an incredible fuel efficiency of 245 g/kWh.
  • On average, it is 10–15 % more economical than all continuously variable tractors previously tested in its power class.

Benchmark TCO for farmers

Want to hear more about how this benchmark-setting tractor was brought to life? We caught Fendt’s Paul Wittmann at Agritechnica 2025. In this video he dives deeper into the completely new design of the Fendt 600 Vario series. He explains the massive advantages of in-house development, the shift to a highly efficient four-cylinder concept and how the low-RPM philosophy is changing the game for farmers’ TCO and daily comfort.
