While the landscape of power is changing rapidly, the work still needs to be done. With the launch of the CORE80, AGCO Power introduces the most powerful engine in the CORE range – a platform designed not just to meet current demands, but to secure the competitive edge for the next generation of machinery.
The CORE80 engine used in the new Fendt 800 Vario Gen5 is a showcase of what is possible when world-class engineering meets a “clean-sheet” design philosophy. For OEMs, the CORE platform offers a strategic bridge between today’s diesel-dominated markets and tomorrow’s alternative-fuel future.
Low RPM, high performance
The CORE80 is built on AGCO Power’s proven low-RPM philosophy, a critical factor for OEMs looking to optimize machine efficiency and operator comfort. By delivering peak performance at significantly lower RPMs, the CORE80 achieves industry-leading fuel economy and reduced noise emissions.
- Max Torque: 1680 Nm at 1200–1400 rpm.
- Max Power: 252 kW (343 hp) at 1500–1700 rpm.
- Operational Efficiency: 60 km/h transport speed at only 1450 rpm.
For the end-user, this translates to lower total cost of ownership (TCO) while its responsive power ensures smooth working and safe transports.
Future-ready and HVO-compatible
Sustainability is now a core business requirement. The CORE platform was engineered from the ground up to support the global energy transition.
- Immediate Decarbonization: Fully compatible with HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil), enabling up to a 90% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions with zero hardware modifications.
- Platform flexibility: The modular architecture of the CORE family is designed to be “future-ready,” with the inherent capability to adapt to hydrogen, methanol and other alternative fuels as the market and infrastructure evolve.
EGR-free simplicity and all-new VGT
By eliminating the need for Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR), AGCO Power has reduced the number of moving parts, simplified the cooling requirements and improved overall reliability.
The integration of a Variable Geometry Turbocharger (VGT) provides the engine with a superior response and a powerful 90 kW engine brake, enhancing safety and reducing wear on the machine’s braking system.
Power for versatile work
The Fendt 800 Vario Gen5 tractor benefits from the responsive low-RPM power enabled by the CORE80 engine. From the high 7.6 t payload to fast 60 km/h road transports at just 1450 rpm, the CORE80 engine ensures dynamic power needed for various jobs.
In the video Paul Wittmann, Senior Manager at Fendt, explains how everything from lighting to hydraulics on the Fendt 800 Vario Gen5 relies on its powerful engine.
